Today, we’re spotlighting Sales Manager, Leslie Painter. This Oklahoma-native and veteran of pharmaceutical sales, has a passion for patient-centered service and a family tradition involving one particular Florida college.
Originally from Tulsa, OK, I first came to Florida while attending the University of Florida and decided to stay. I’ve been a part of the pharmaceutical industry for 21 years, with experience in sales, training, marketing and leadership. I’ve been married to Peter, a chiropractor, for 25 years and we have two children.
Paige is a senior at the University of Florida and Andy is a senior in high school who will attend the University of Florida to play baseball after graduation in May 2021. Yes, we are ALL Gators!!!!! My life pretty much revolves around family, faith, friends, and of course----baseball!!
Upon graduating from college, I worked in consumer products sales for Revlon. I fell in love with sales. Marrying a chiropractor helped me become more patient-focused and I thought pharmaceutical sales was the perfect fit. Once I got into the industry I simply loved it the sales aspect of being able to affect patient lives for the better.
I am a Zone Manager for Florida currently with 4 reps promoting Medly services to 9 different specialties in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area. Still looking for that perfect Ophthalmic candidate for Miami and now hiring for Dermatology and Ophthalmology for Medly’s new Orlando location to open summer 2021.
Medly is a unique concept with a timely entrance into my life with COVID19 putting a halt on so many physician interactions in the pharmaceutical industry. I saw a need for Medly services during COVID and beyond as the wave of the future of pharmacy and prescription fulfillment. The business model is filling a need in the marketplace right now. When presenting what Medly can provide to offices it is exciting to see.
First and foremost, Medly being a full service pharmacy by offering any and all prescriptions from branded and generic drugs to biologic medications.
When promoting to physician offices you aren’t limited to certain medications as with other specialty pharmacies. Medly is more patient-centric and assists physicians by getting the medications ordered and filled at the best price for the patient, taking the extra steps to look for rebates, copay cards, or through prior authorization assistance.
The prior authorization assistance is an added bonus for provider offices as Medly’s internal and external account management teams work tirelessly to make sure everyone has a positive experience. Medly advocates for patients every single day.
Lastly, Medly offers free delivery with our own drivers. I spent a few minutes with 2 drivers this week out of the Miami location and realized that they repeat deliveries to some of the same patients in their delivery zones so they really get the chance to know them. Medly will also provide a 2-3 hour delivery window so patients can have their medication delivered to their work, home or even the gym if they want to. Medly is adapting to the times of patients and their busy lifestyles.
I have worked at small, medium and large corporations. Even though Medly is growing so fast, it still has a small company feel and culture. Ideas are heard and suggestions can be implemented quickly, while the Medly brand manages to get bigger every day. It is incredible to see some ideas come to fruition so quickly.
Many providers and staff are frustrated with the chain pharmacy that doesn’t fill what they prescribe for their patients. Being in the field and finding ways to fill the need of offices when it comes to prescription fulfillment is very rewarding. I like the flexibility to be able to utilize relationships that I have from over 20 years in pharmaceuticals in multiple therapeutic areas to meet the needs of so many.
It is rewarding to hear from physicians and staff that they are so happy with Medly services especially with biologic medication fulfillment. This can oftentimes be a lengthy process and requires a lot of work so it is rewarding to see success in those efforts.
In my short time here I have to say one of the best experiences with a provider was walking into an office in Miami and having the doctor stop me to tell me how impressed she is with our prior authorization support for her biologics.
Being new to Medly and new to the pharmacy side of business it felt really good to hear. Now I am hearing that more and more and that makes me feel confident every time I speak with other offices.
Favorite animal would be a horse. Specifically a Palomino horse for their unique beauty and coloring. Horses represent independence and freedom while thriving in a social environments. Although they can also be stubborn, there is such a majestic beauty about a running horse.
Favorite food would have to be chips and salsa, but is that really considered a food or more of a snack. Either way it is always a good time for chips and salsa especially paired with a good margarita!
Favorite movie is Field of Dreams without question. This was long before I realized baseball would be such a big part of my life. It is such a feel good movie surrounded by faith and hope that leaves me in tears every time.
